TSTT moves to a predictive maintenance approach with Streamline AI to optimise OPEX and improve network performance

Dublin, Ireland Dec 2021

Trinidad and Tobago's leading telecommunications operator, Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago (TSTT), has modernised its genset fleet maintenance strategy by using Nasctech’s Streamline AI predictive maintenance module to plan and optimise its maintenance schedule for its site generator fleet.

Streamline AI uses data such as historic generator run rates, actual run rates, fuel levels, and more, to accurately predict when a location needs maintenance, and automatically plans and assigns the job to the relevant contractor. Previously this had been a manual job, which was very labour intensive, and not fully data driven.

Kenrick Garcia, TSTT Chief Technology Officer (Ag.), notes, "Like with most operators in the world, and especially in times of COVID, we are trying to do more with less. As a result, we are turning to Nasctech more and more to help automate our operations wherever possible. More so, applying AI to help our stretched operations team in fact leads to our improving our network uptime through less outages, and reducing our OPEX due to less overall visits. Generally, we are pleased to now be moving into AI based operations thanks to Streamline AI”.

Des Keary, Nasctech Chief Executive Officer, adds, "As ever, TSTT are proving to be an early and decisive embracer of new technologies. Moreover TSTT has quickly put Streamline AI to practical use in the key area of predictive maintenance, seeing value from the solution within months of project kick off. We are as ever very grateful to TSTT for their engagement and support, and look forward to further progressing their move towards AI driven operations."
